Curiously I have detected almost no corrupted data when my hard disc
went belly up a month or so back, the filing system seems very
resilient.
And now the verdict is that my power supply is definitely defective.
What we do know is that the voltage is marginally low at 5.05 volts vs
the required 5.06. So it might be worth while your borrowing a digital
voltmeter and checkign what your PSU is doing.

Both Castle and CJE Micro's supply Iyonix PSUs.

And the Iyonix is considerably faster and has much better graphics
capability, not to mention also usable memory. I'll be glad when mine
is back in full working order.
