DNS working but browser routing not!
A customer had some changes to his Iyonix network settings and reset them
back to what is belived to be the old setting but can't browse or do email
transfers.
ShareFS to a RiscPC works o.k.
He can browse into his routers home page o.k. 10.0.1.2
but netsurf when trying to browse to bbc.co.uk says "unable to reach(or
similair words) 212.58.226.73 so the dns seems to be working
He is DHCPing
Routing is blank
Hosts has a DNS entry (His ISPs DNS)
he can't ping outside his network not even the dns's that seem to be working!
If 'try name server too' is unticked netsurf reports an error on loading
saying something abouts hosts not setup, on our Iyonix Netsurf runs fine
with it unticked.
Any ideas?
More info the customer had network issues and fitted a PCI network card, the
problems persisted so a new PSU was fitted and the PCI card removed.
The software for the PCI network card was removed/reset to standard.
