Ah, happy memories of a machine I had in the early 90's, a Diamond
word-processor.  Built by Data Recall of Dorking during the
Seventies/eighties.  I think mine was a Diamond 7.  It had a huge monitor
which could display A3 vertically, a small(!) processor unit the size of
the average desk diven by two 8" floppies, a vast metal keyboard and a
daisy wheel printer that alone weighed about half a ton.  The great thing
about all this was the wonderful screen but it had snags.  The different
components could not be disconnected from each other without expert
knowledge so the assembly needed a crew of about 5 people to move it in en
masse from one place to another.  The other snag was switching on or off
with the system disk in the drive wrecked the disk and a new one had to be
made from the one and only original. Gave it away to somebody near
Cambridge in the mid-Nineties.  Believe the Science Museum has one.
