Good evening.
I've just received what should be 1 GB memory modules for my 2 Iyonixes.
I ordered them from Ebay, I couldn't resist... 17 euros each.
http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=350064384274&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=022#ebayphotohosting
But well it does not work : RISC OS tells me it sees 512 MB... no more.
Quite surprisingly, if you read the advert, it says : 1 GB, not 2x512MB.
To me, it meant the module would be populated (is it correct English ?) with
memory components only on one side, but in fact the memory modules received
are populated on both sides.
There is a metalic cache covering both sides (very strange for a low 266
Mh frequency), and it's held in place
thanks to 2 metalic clips, which I had to remove, 'press', put back in
place, so that they really fulfill their task correctly (they were loose).
And guess what, the funny part is for the end :
when I run Firefox I have the feeling it behaves faster : scrolling page,
displaying images ... funny brain is the human brain, no ?
