[iyonix-support] Re: Bug/limit in Iyonix hosts file?

Hi

Sounds like a readline line length limit that has not usually been seen, hence hasn't been updated to use a longer buffer ..

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is a maximum line length to entries in the hosts
file (BootResources:!Internet.files.hosts)?

I've got a local server entry with numerous aliases configured for it.
However, I've just added a new entry (taking the line length over 255
charactesr) and now the entire line is ignored.

On removing the new entry, all the other aliases start working again - so I
presume there must be a 255 character limit or something....?

More than likely.

I'm pleased there seems to be some input validation and it didn't buffer overflow and crash.

Cheers
