Can anyone offer a suggestion as to why, when my Iyonix is booted through

Typically a data abort error is displayed; (today it was at &FC0502FC).

If the Iyo is booted with its KVM* connections active, there is no
problem. If it is booted /without/ its KVM link active, it invariably
needs to be reset. It makes no difference whether or not the Mac is off,
on, or asleep.

just a thought.. does it fail when you switch to the IYO if you have done
a 'fail type' boot, but NOT run !USBKick?

I haven't tried this yet, but I have thought to use *where after the last two
non-frozen errored boot or "return to Iyo from Mac" events.

In both the cases so far (one of each), *Where has shown an error in the
OHCIDriver, address FC1BFB04 at offset 00003D2C. Two swallows don't make a
summer, but it is a coincidence if no more.

almost certainly linked, in that usbdriver and ohcidriver use extensive callbacks, including to client apps. It is more tham likely that what you see will emerge through this module.. even then it does NOT mean that this is at fault.. that is why I asked what else was running, and particularly what, if not running, made the difference.

BTW if you have a usb hub, I wonder if it makes a difference putting the hub between the switch and the iyo? just a thought

Thanks

John

As a USB component, OHCIDriver (0.29 BTW) does sound like a likely suspect,
or an accomplice at least -?

RO5.11; USB-2; USBHID 0.45; Geminus 1.31. I always run !USBKick (1.08) at
boot, and on every boot since connecting the KVM it always registers 'Hub
device: Complete -Fail'. It does the same if run after booting is
complete.

does it mis behave if any one of the above elements is NOT run? I only ask
because both my main installations run through a KVM, and are often
started with the kvm switched elsewhere, and I do not usually see an
issue.. though I don't run usbhid, geminus, or usbkick in the normal run
of events.

I'll have to do some booting trials to check these out; and indeed to see if
there are any non-OHCI errors.

What on earth can a
KVM do to crash an Iyonix on booting?
