[iyonix-support] Belkin KVM (MacMini) switch2

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to why, when my Iyonix is booted through the
non-active connection, it is frozen when I return to the Iyo desktop?
Typically a data abort error is displayed; (today it was at &FC0502FC).
If the Iyo is booted with its KVM* connections active, there is no problem.
If it is booted /without/ its KVM link active, it invariably needs to be
reset. It makes no difference whether or not the Mac is off, on, or asleep.
To compound the problem, if working on the Mac and I return to the Iyo, even
if booted correctly, there is likely to be an application error window on
display; depending on the app it may or may not have been fatal. (These
latter errors seldom bring down the computer though..)
RO5.11; USB-2; USBHID 0.45; Geminus 1.31. I always run !USBKick (1.08) at
boot, and on every boot since connecting the KVM it always registers 'Hub
device: Complete -Fail'. It does the same if run after booting is complete.
I'm well aware from previous correspondence here that having keyboard and
mouse connected via a USB hub can be problematic (in this case, I assume it
refers to the switch, there is no other external hub), but I can live with
mere lack of connection; there are several workrounds. What I can't
understand is why it should bring down the whole computer. Any ideas?
*It is a neat device which matches the MacMini body and sits underneath it. A
Belkin KVM (though not this one) is on the USB compatibility list so it
seemed reasonable to take a chance. And I emphasise, switching does work
well, in every respect except this one. What on earth can a KVM do to crash
an Iyonix on booting?
