Yes, I've seen it with a (Wharfedale) MP3 player, which seemed to work 
on Windows XP and Mac OSX.

As it turned out the player was faulty (it wouldn't play back MP3 
files - bit of a drawback really) so I was able to get a refund. This 
of course means I no longer own such a device...
