Thanks for the various responses. Never mind :(
Perhaps I am barking up the wrong tree anyway. Does anyone have a
suggestion as to why !Samba above all has started playing up?
It has been really steady and reliable for years(?) connecting my Iyo with
a laptop. Now, whenever I access the files on the Iyo from the laptop, it
displays the files correctly, almost immediately bringing up an error
message on the Iyo desktop:
"Internal error, trap while in trap handler:
Internal error: abort on instruction fetch
at &00000000, pc=FFFFFFFC:
registers at 0012A254"
always the same message. There is then an evens chance of the desktop
dying, with only the mouse active, and needing a re-boot.
