The only idea that springs to mind is a clash with modules that are
unplugged under 5.16. As has been mentioned in this list, the module
numbers have changed between 5.16 and 5.18 so if number 13 is unplugged
under 5.16 (e.g. representing SCSIFS) might relate to (e.g.) ADFS under
5.18 with desasterous results.
So you might want to check for any unplugged modules under 5.16 for
a start.
