-------- Original Message --------
Dear friends from ISF Italia, EWB-UK, ISF France and ISF Belgium,
First of all I would like to excuse myself for not having answered
before to all your emails. The idea of this email is to give you much
more details about the meeting that we will have at the end of October
in Barcelona. Just to inform you, there are 3 people from UK that will
come, Italy has confirmed its presence but not with how many people
yet and France will try to be present but they still have to confirm
it. Moreover, Belgium will be happy to collaborate but it will be
difficult for them to come to Barcelona.
1- About a place to sleep in Barcelona: as I told you in previous
emails, you will have a place to sleep in houses of voluntaries of
ISF-Catalonia (it might be an interesting idea to take a sleeping bag
with you).
2- about the Congress Engineering Education in Sustainable Development:
if you want registrate yourself you can do it at the web
http://congress.cimne.upc.es/eesd2004/frontal/default.asp.
The problem that some of you exposed is that it is quite expensive. We
have talked with the organization of the Congress and they offer us
the following conditions, without paying: we can assist to all the
plenary sessions and to the students meetings. Except if you really
want to assist to all the sessions, I think it is a quite interesting
option, especially taking into account that we will also need some
time to have our meetings.
I attach you a document where you can see all the meetings of the
Congress we are invited to attend without paying.
3- there are no possibilities of following all the Congress with a
special price for us...
4- meetings about ISF-EWB-Europe: we propose 2 meetings in the
following moments:
28th October, Thursday: 17.30-20.30h
29th October, Friday: 8.30-10.30h
5- I would need the names of the people that are going to come as soon
as possible to comunicate them to the responsibles of the Congress (if
you still have some doubts, it is better to say that more people will
come and then if someone is not able to come it is easier)
6- about the contents of our meetings: the idea of the meeting is to
start a formal network of the different ISF/EWB that exist in Europe.
For this, it might be interesting that you start to think about ideas
before coming. In Spain, we think a good way of starting would be to
define something like a "common declaration of principles" and to find
an activity to start to work together [example: Conference organized
by ISF/EWB-Europe in September 2005 about Technology for Human
Development, with funds of the EU] and to know each other. Anyway, in
some days we will try to send you a more defined Agenda of our
meetings.
Please feel free to ask or propose any idea or suggestion. And do not
forget to bring good mood to discover a nice city like Barcelona! (and
its night life:). Ciao,
Daniel Camós Daurella
