Dear Madam/ Sir,

After the success of last year we are glad to announce to you that we have developed the 
third edition of Lugano Humanitarian Summer School, with the title "Integrating 
strategy, innovation and logistics in humanitarian relief efforts". The school will 
take place in the University of Lugano from Monday 30th of June to Wednesday 2nd of July. 
You find the flyer and the application form in attachment.

The 2008 School will focus on the integration of strategy, innovation and 
logistics in humanitarian relief effort using a system perspective. Each 
session integrates theoretical concepts and analytical frameworks with 
participant's practical and diverse expertise. Participants will be guided to 
compare their every-day job experience with innovative concepts and 
methodologies to recognize new opportunities and consider challenges to 
implementation. Interaction among participants from various organizations will 
allow identification of common problems, cross-organization benchmarking, 
leverage opportunities from local solutions and the exchange of ideas and 
experiences- an essential basis for successful collaboration in future relief 
actions.

Cost of participation is Euro 650 (six hundred and fifty Euros), including 
course materials, food and drink (coffee breaks, lunches and dinners). To any 
organization sending more than one participant, a 20% discount will be applied. 
Participants to last Summer School edition are invited to skip the first 
introductive day (fee applied 400 Euros).

In order to register to the Summer School an application must be sent to me 
together with the copy of your curriculum vitae. Applications can be sent by 
e-mail or fax. If your application is accepted, you will receive a written 
confirmation with an invoice. Number of places is limited.
