Dear Tom

Thanks you very much for idea, I am sure the name resolution is working
fine. Anyway, I will apply isa sp2 soon, since some people can
successfully
update it.

I just want to clarify everything working fine after updating.

Thanks
Krisna

Hi Krisna,

I've heard many times people mention that they need the Firewall client
to use POP3. That is patently untrue. POP3 is a simple single connection
protocol that the SecureNAT client handles just fine.

There are other issues, perhaps name resolution, or perhaps you just
need the rollup hotfix (that one is for Jim :-) Actually, SP2 will
probably fix your problem.

HTH,
Tom

http://www.ISAserver.org

Dear All,

Let me describe my problem.

My server runs on Ms Windows 2000 SP4, Ms Exchange 2000 SP3 and Ms ISA
2000 SP 1.
My ISA is configured no need authentication.

Recently, there is some strange to me, my 2 staffs had a problem with
sending/receiving email from their laptop (used ms lookup sp3.) their Ms
Outlook has 2 P0P3 account, one for mail server A, and another one for
my Server(B).
+ Mail server A: they can not send/receive, and display this error
message.
Task 'mail server A ip address' - Sending and Receiving' reported error
(0x80042108) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your incoming (POP3)
e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your
server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
+ My mail server (B): they can only send to in internal mail, can not
send to external mail (after it send it go from their outbox, but it did
not reach the destination address)

The problem has solved by install the Ms ISA client and can not use
without it. My question is why it needs the ISA client? Before I did not
need, and I have not changed any setting in MS ISA.

How can do without install Ms ISA client, due to they need to disable it
all the time when they dialup outside.

Anyone could explain. Thank
Regards,
Krisna

Ps: for my some staffs which their email accounts use the Ms Exchange
for connection (not used as pop3) is still working fine.
