I had one user like this. It turned out to be that the user had allowed windows to save the user ID / password. So when the changed the password as our domain security policy requires, the saved credentials didn't work.
Just a thought.

Hi, I have a user with Windows XP Pro SP1 and all the updates. When she goes to open IE, she gets prompted with a window asking for user name and password. She enters username/domain then password, and goes in. This does not happen all the time and only to this user. Her profile & settings are the same as others, but no one is experiencing this but her. We have ISA with all new SP, etc.. thanks
