What are the disadvantages or risks associated with enabling IP rounting
on Packet filters?

Also do a tracert -d to an external address ... this will give you at
least the last point at where it going and if its a routing problem
rather than a protocol filtering.

        Yes..  I can resolve the name.. but the ping times out..  I'll
check the icmp thing.. I haven't touched that yet.. so it'll be what the
default is.. I'll try to enable it outbound

        also make sure you have your Internal DNS server(s) set up to
use forwarding if you have them, otherwise you won't be able to resolve
the host name.
        (if you are using internal DNS servers)
