If they need to be in a domain, let that domain live totally in the DMZ and have no trusts anywhere else. If a Windows server can't resolve the domain name through either DNS or WINS, it can't join the domain. If so, 1. does the W2K DC have the correct WINS entries? 2. can you "ping domainname" successfully? If not, name resolution isn't all you believe it is. 3. do you have DNS for the NT4 domain? W2K prefers DNS to WINS for domain resolution. I have users from a remote location that have an nt4 domain, this location a have a 2000 domain. I have replicated wins and name resolution is working fine but when I try and set up trust or log in to that domain from this one it says it cant find a domain controller. any ideas? have tried lmhosts ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: aembrey@xxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: cismic@xxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
