Hi Mark,
I would scap the install just yet. If you are trying to gain
access through your ISA, you really don't need the firewall client, I
recommend to configure your workstation as a web proxy, its simple and
fast. But since you want to utilize the firewall client, you have the
option to make the client resolve the isa server either by a FQDN in
which you need DNS server to resolve this for you or by IP if you don't
have DNS service installed, in which is abit faster since you are
skipping a services and communicating directly to the ISA's ip address.
Let us know what you are trying to do, then we can help out abit more.

Goto...
    Client Configuration...
        Firewall Client, then
Look for the section that selects the ISA computer by DNS name
or by IP...

This is the first place I have run across this, but I am sure there will
be more issues. I am kind of leaning towards nuke and pave. Since I
still have a boot drive with windows 2000 and ISA on it, I simply swap
the drives around so I at least remain connectable.

Thanks,

Mark S

Hi Mark,

What kind of servers are you trying to browse for? I thought I had all
the interfaces memorized and I can't picture what it is you're trying to
accomplish.

Thanks!
Tom

Hi,

I am attempting to set-up ISA on a fresh windows 2003 Ent. Server... I
have ISA installed, and have read the doc's article on 2003 and checked
and followed it, but...

When I go to the firewall client config section of ISA management, and
try to browse for ISA server's none are shown. Is this a DNS issue ? I
know that the DNS server is not working overly well right now, but if I
need to nuke and pave and start fresh again I want to do it now before I
get further in the hole.

Thanks for any advice,

Mark S
