As for the promise technology... It's everywhere. I started "mass" storage back when the only low cost storage was a Snap Server. After 4 years running 24/7 my 4100 (168 GB-RAID 5, no hot spare) finally threw a drive. The chips on the motherboard... All stamped Promise. While I'm not a fan of the on motherboard Promise RAID that was used in the early days to give the home user IDE2 and IDE3, the higher end cards seem to work flawlessly. Of course, I'm not running the array for the IRS or social security administration :-) But if you have 12 200GB drives running nicely in your RAID5 array, it just goes to show it ain't half bad for non-millionaires! :-O) Thanks! Not locked into 2TB size. I am currently running several IDE RAID (don't laugh until you see the cost factors for static storage). 3ware IDE 12 port and 12 200GB drives (11 RAID5 and hot spare) and I am topped out. Can't wait to use the 16 port card ;-> Richard Bell MIS Director Microfilm Services, Inc. www.msifla.net rbell@xxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: Warren Cundy [mailto:warrenc@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2003 12:29 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Windows 2003 http://www.ISAserver.org Hey Tom and others running Win2003, Any specific benefits for ISA that would warrant an upgrade? Did you do an upgrade install or fresh? I've been running 2003 in a test environment and it seems great, but without a specific need, its a tough justification. :) Thanks. -Warren -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 14, 2003 5:47 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Windows 2003 http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Mark, I've been running my main ISA Server on Win2003 for a couple of weeks now, and its GREAT.
