Still WinMX says waiting for results William -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 14 August 2003 17:38 To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: WinMX http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Will, I have to jump in, because I hate to see you suffer :-) IIRC, WinMX uses a complex protocol. So, you need to figure out the primary and secondary connections. Since it's a warez service. I haven't spent the time to figure it out. However, if you need access to such a service, just install the firewall client and create an "all open" Protocol and Site/Content Rule. Runnig I netstat -n -a does not show these ports as LISTENING. Am I correct in saying I need to add a Packet filter or not? The above URL helps around ISP blocks, if you are certain it's not your firewall. Assuming that your client has unrestricted IP access, then I would bet that it might be your ISP or a firewall further along the line. --Kenny Mann -----Original Message----- From: Will [mailto:administrator@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 14, 2003 9:10 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] WinMX http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Can anyone tell me what I need to do to access WinMX from a Firewall client connected to ISA? I get a connection ok but search always says 'Waiting for results' Client has an unrestricted protocol rule......I am doing this on a test machine. I know a business environment should not use this stuff J William ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: kennymann@xxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: administrator@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: administrator@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
