Hi Fred,

Listening to MP3 is different than downloading. You need to block the
protocol or MIME type.

As for blocking downloading, you'll need the hotfix to block file types
for HTTP. Otherwise, it only works for FTP.

Finally, you must force the clients to be Web Proxy clients. Configure
the HTTP Redirector to drop requests from firewall and securenat clients
and your users will get the hint fast :-)

Tom

Subject: [isalist] Ways to block users to download a specific file
extension

Good day to All!

Is there a way to deny users to download a specific file
extension (in my case MP3)? I tried using the content groups by denying
MP3 but, for some reason, it is still allowed.

I don't want users to be able to download or listen to MP3.

        Any clue?

        Fred
