Hi Paul, I'll see if I can find out what the deal is here. I'll ask the Exchange team members I know if they can point me to a precise location. Thanks! Maybe I'll just mail one of the product managers and drop it in his lap :) The RPC-over-HTTP scripts should be available around http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/tools/2003.asp somewhere, although I don't have a precise location. I may have been premature in mentioning it, though, because I don't have an exact location. -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2003 3:17 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: VPC file == "bad data" http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Paul, A number of people have reported this same issue when one end is Windows 2000 and the other Windows Server 2003. I haven't heard about any solutions, or even what the issue might be. There aren't any public KB articles on this issue yet, but I'd bet a nickle that PSS is aware of it internally ;-) BTW -- great article today on RPC over HTTP. One question, where can I find those scripts you mentioned that automatically configure the Exchange Servers? Thanks! I want to set up an on-demand VPN between them. Proposed approach: use "Configure a Local VPN" button in Network Configuration page of ISA Management snap-in. Walk through the steps to create a VPC file and send it to the admin at RED. Result: importing the file fails with an error message: "Bad data". Trying the process in reverse (e.g. Creating the VPC file on RED and sending it to TOL) fails in the same manner. A thread in the newsgroup seems to indicate that this might be an OS mismatch; red-isa01 is a W2K3 box and tol-isa01 is W2K. This appears to be a known problem, but I'm darned if I know the solution (other than setting it up manually, which is what I did).
