To my knowledge, unless you elevate your rights on the Vista box (right-click cmd.exe and select Run As Administrator) you can't use the tool, assuming it has been installed. I put it as the #1 rule, still no go. Nslookup works fine and finds exchange.titusville.com, but of course that's a different protocol. -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Thor (Hammer of God) Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2007 10:32 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: Telnet question http://www.ISAserver.org <http://www.isaserver.org/> ------------------------------------------------------- It would need to be before any deny rule that would prevent it from being allowed. You're telnetting to 25 from an internal box and not the ISA box itself, right? And the internal box either has the firewall client installed or has the ISA box's internal IP set as it's default gateway? t > -----Original Message----- > From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist- > bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dan Crain > Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2007 7:22 AM > To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [isalist] Re: Telnet question > > http://www.ISAserver.org <http://www.isaserver.org/> > ------------------------------------------------------- > > Thanks...I put that rule in and it still won't telnet out...is there an > order it needs to be in? > > -----Original Message----- > From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist- > bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Thor (Hammer of God) > Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2007 9:26 AM > To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [isalist] Re: Telnet question > > http://www.ISAserver.org <http://www.isaserver.org/> > ------------------------------------------------------- > > Typically, you would only allow 25 out from the SMPT gateway itself and > not the entire internal network. > > If mail is working fine, consider creating a temporary rule for > outbound TCP 25 from the internal network to the External network - > perform your > testing, and then delete it... > > t > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist- > > bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dan Crain > > Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2007 6:18 AM > > To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > Subject: [isalist] Telnet question > > > > http://www.ISAserver.org <http://www.isaserver.org/> > > ------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Simple question for the pros... > > I'm running ISA 2004. > > Does it automatically block a telnet session.
