I fail to see your point Tsao San

Microsoft built ISA to THEIR specs...it's UP to 3rd party vendors to
make sure their filters work in ISA, NOT the other way round.

SurfControl has various Webfilter suitable to different firewall,
i.e.:
1) for ISA2K & 2K4
2) for Proxy
3) for Windows (works with sniffing switch)
4) for Hardware firewall

It does not make sense to blame SurfControl lack of filter control Under
ISA version, this must work with WebProxy. In case of monitering Who web
traffic, you may need to take another type of product from Above 3-4).

Hi Ara,

The problem is that client must be explicitly configured as a Web proxy
client.

John,

Problem is if you have the firewall client and users uses a 3rd party
browser like fire fox and direct access to internet, or even using
internet explorer with firewall client disabled manually, the can simply
bypass the filtering rule, Errrr...

Seems that any none proxy traffic is not filtered under surfcontrol

Any reply or comment will be appreciated.

Well, since I have not been following this thread, I do not know.

So instead of wading through all the posts, if some one lets me know
exactly what to test I will, although it may not be until Tuesday.

The haggis is unusual in that it is neither consistently nocturnal nor diurnal,
but instead is active at dawn and dusk (crepuscular), with occasional forays
forth during the day and night.
