RE: Spam and getting authentication challenged in outlook

This sounds like an embedded image or link to a remote URL where the
permissions are set incorrectly. Kind of like trying to hit a website that is
password protected, these images or http code embedded in the spam are stored
on a website that isn't configured correctly for the intended purpose.

If it were me, I would caution my users NOT to enter any usernames or passwords
into these remote auth boxes, as they could be sniffed or logged and then used
by whomever for whatever, if you catch my drift.

I saw one incident of that a couple of days ago for the first time. The
username that came up in the box was a very odd one (definitely not in our
domain).

Hello,

Has anyone seen where people with full access to the internet getting
challenged in Outlook when looking at SPAM. The same user has not problem
going to any website VIA IE. Another odd thing is when they get challenged,
the user name that pops up not their own. In fact it can not be found in our
domain.

Thanks.

Dan
