How was the subnet defined?
If you're referring to 123.123.123.*-type definitions, then yes; it'll work,
but if you're looking to use something like 123.123.123/23, then no, it
won't.

Isn't it that the option 'Bypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses' only
checks host name, but the exceptions list can be used to bypass a domain
name or range of IP addresses?
I have several clients that use subnets in the exceptions field.

Unfortunately, IE doesn't understand subnets; that field was
specifically
intended for hostnames and FQDN.

Having a bit of a problem with IE6 proxy server overrides..
Situation is our network has many subnets, with many devices on it that
need
to be in a proxy exception list. Normal domain stuff is in a
*.domain.com
override and that's sweet.
Problem is when I apply our exception list via Group Policy
ie *.domain.com;200.1.1.*;200.1.2.*;200.1.3.* etc... ( List is 433 Chars
long)
There is a limit to how many characters can be applied (Kb209252)
Manually it is 985, via IEAK it is 259 (and I assume via GP too) - the
net
result is that IE ignores ALL the exception string if you go over 259
chars...
Does anybody know if there is a way to enter an IP range in there - have
tested but cannot seem to get it to work myself.
ie 200.1.1-200.*
Anybody else had this situation?
