Fine; let's clarify it for you, then: "ISA does not support multiple connections to the Internet". The fact that you can create a special routing circumstance between distant entities via the same "service provider" does NOT fall into the "multiple Internet connection" category. None of the ISA marketing spew even remotely hinted at being able to use multiple Internet connections. "External" networks (if you actually read the documentation that shipped with ISA) refers to "non-protected networks". -----Original Message----- From: Ball, Dan [mailto:DBall@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, January 22, 2005 9:13 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: SSL Problems with ISA 2004 http://www.ISAserver.org I think you hit the nail on the head, it's a matter of semantics, if they claim it is capable of multiple ISPs, then people would expect the whole package, load-balancing, fail-over, etc. to be included. So, instead, they refer to it as multiple external networks, which takes the pressure off. -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, January 22, 2005 11:38 To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: SSL Problems with ISA 2004 http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Jim, True 'nuf. In general, when they refer to multiple ISPs, they actually mean they want multiple "default" gateways and then implement some sort or policy based routing, or bandwidth balancing, or bandwidth aggregation or link failover or all of the above (usually they want it for free too) :-) Tom ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: World of Windows Networking: http://www.windowsnetworking.com Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx All mail to and from this domain is GFI-scanned.
