If you use the internal SMTP server publishing method, you'll also gain the
ability to route the mail through the ISA SMTP filter / message screener if
the relaying SMTP server is IIS- or Exchange-based.

Subject: [isalist] SMTP RELAY Scenario

What is the best solution to implement a smtp relay ( antivirus ) and what
is the difference in the two following cases ?

1. By using a truth trihomed DMZ. The smtp relay is in the DMZ and will
relay towards internal smtp server.

2. By using server publishing method. The smtp relay is in the internal
network and will relay towards the internal smtp server.
