OK. I read back through the archives and Jim said the SMTP filter doesn't support AUTH NTLM or AUTH LOGIN. So I disabled it. I really want to use the filter or should I go out and purchase a more featured SMTP filter? TIA. Have tried to close of SMTP so people can't use as a relay. SMTP is setup to relay 'Only the list below' which is blank but to 'Allow all who authenticate regardless of list above' I have entered my Windows username into Outlook Express to authenticate with the SMTP server but I was getting SMTP filter messages saying filter rule broken with commands AUTH LOGIN and AUTH NTLM. I put in a few bodgey SMTP commands of AUTH LOGIN and AUTH NTLM with length of 266 (I don't know correct length) and now I am prompted for Windows username and password on the client. But it will always fail even though the name and password are correct. Is it the length that is wrong? What am I doing wrong?
