OK.

I read back through the archives and Jim said the SMTP filter doesn't
support AUTH NTLM or AUTH LOGIN.

So I disabled it.

I really want to use the filter or should I go out and purchase a more
featured SMTP filter?

TIA.

Nathan

Subject: [isalist] SMTP: AUTH NTLM and AUTH LOGIN

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hi All,

I have published both Domino POP and IIS SMTP Servers.

Have tried to close of SMTP so people can't use as a relay.

SMTP is setup to relay 'Only the list below' which is blank but to 'Allow
all who authenticate regardless of list above'

I have entered my Windows username into Outlook Express to authenticate with
the SMTP server but I was getting SMTP filter messages saying filter rule
broken with commands AUTH LOGIN and AUTH NTLM.

I put in a few bodgey SMTP commands of AUTH LOGIN and AUTH NTLM with length
of 266 (I don't know correct length) and now I am prompted for Windows
username and password on the client. But it will always fail even though the
name and password are correct.

Is it the length that is wrong?

What am I doing wrong?

TIA

Nathan
