Hi Tim, Exactly. I never know if the new providers are providing firewall protection on the edge, or if they allow viruses and worms into the provider network, possibly infecting unwary hosts. I sometimes will get a "pay as you go" provider between switch overs, but its usually a year or two between contracts. ;-) Tom -----Original Message----- From: Thor [mailto:thor@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 12, 2004 5:07 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: RainConnect http://www.ISAserver.org I prefer to get it back up as soon as possible... I've found if you keep your connection down for too long, drive failure is not too far behind. :0 Besides, its always interesting to see what new ports other providers make available to you! t ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas W Shinder" <tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "[ISAserver.org Discussion List]" <isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, May 12, 2004 2:58 PM Subject: [isalist] RE: RainConnect http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Tim, Perhaps, but usually if I drop an ISP I stay offline for a few months ;-) Tom -----Original Message----- From: Thor [mailto:thor@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 12, 2004 4:48 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: RainConnect http://www.ISAserver.org >Go with a second connection that is from a different provider.
