Now all I have to do is convince the bosses we need to upgrade our
server operating system, our Exchange software, our office clients from
XP to Office 2003,(or at least Outlook), and all our Exchange licenses,
and server 2k3 licenses to boot, because just having Outlook is not a
license to connect to the exchange server or the w2k3 server.
So for about 100 users, about $26,000.00 for 100 w2k3 server lic, 100
exchange 2k3 license, 100 outlook 2k3 clients, 1 win2k3 server lic, and
1 exchange 2k3 server lic.
Now what about the fact that we are a thin client only house running
terminal services on win2k servers? Do those have to be upgraded to
server 2k3 as well?
If so, the whole thing is a bust.
I think I'll just go cry.

If you have Outlook 2003 running on WinXP SP 1and Exchange 2003, then
you get full MAPI client functionality using this feature.

Where do I read about this function?
I mean what it is and does.
Since the worm, ISPs are still blocking the ports and or protocols, and
VPNs don't work well or even at all with satellite internet. I may be
needing to justify Win2k3 and Exchange 2k3 to the powers at be, if it
gives us back FULL Exchange functionality over the internet. What
clients does it take to make it happen? All that good stuff. Thanks

Hi Jim,
It actually is pretty simple, once you figure out the requirements. The
problem is there isn't anything very coherent in the public domain that
provides these. I'll feel like a big hole in the earth is going to be
filled, based on the number of newsgroup and web hits I found on the
subject with people claiming they couldn't get it to work and that its
impossible.

and Server Publishing Rules!
