Hi Tiago,
I've haven't tried out your scenario yet, but I'm very curious out it.
Can you use your PPPoE connection, with the RASPPPoE software, to create a
remote VPN gateway link to the main office? How do you configure the static
route to route the appropriate packets to the main office? How do you even
create the demand-dial interface? Maybe its very simple and I just need to do
it and see how it works :-)
Thanks!
Tom

Thomas,
Here in my area we have this problem:
If you want to get a real DSL, you have to hire another service from
the same company. However, the real DSL's operate in PPPoA. That means: PPPoA
MUXes must be available in your region. Since the demand for these babies are
too high, sometimes the wait line is over 2 months... Not to mention the cost.
Almost four times more expensive than PPPoE DSL's. Advantages: you don't have
to dial and you can get an static IP address, too.
Residential DSL's used to be PPPoA as well, but as the demand kept
growing, they were forced to migrate the PPPoA MUXes for the business folks and
put some PPPoE MUXes for the folks at home.
So what did I think? Teach my branch office folks how do dial it and we
save huge bucks =) There's no need to have a static IP address at the branch
office considering that RRAS trick...
Well, guess this is it. If I find something about it, I'll share it!

Hi Tiago,
I've been wondering the same thing. I think if you want to create a
gateway to gateway VPN link to connect networks, you're going to have to bag
the bogus PPPoE stuff and get a real DSL connection. I don't see any way to get
RRAS to recognise the PPPoE interface as a modem interface that can be used by
a demand dial interface.
If you come up with a answer, I'd like to know it too!
Thanks!

Hey people,
Is there any PPPoE software that allows integration with RRAS?
I'd like to automate as much as possible the dial-up procedure for my PPPoE
modem. Today I'm using RASPPPoE, but it creates a dial-up connection like a
modem, and I can't create static routes using RRAS because it can't see the
interface created by RASPPPoE.
So what happens? When my users arrive at the branch office,
they have do dial this interface in order for the rest of the services come up.
Thanks,
