Alex,

I'm assuming that you can browse the internet from a client behind the
ISA server. Test a telnet session from the ISA to port 25 and port 110
for the address pop3.uol.com.br

Test from the client as well. With the firewall client installed on a
client you should be able to telnet to your pop host without a problem.

My firewall client is setup like yours however, I don't have the
discovery box checked.

For your web browser settings, remove the check marks under automatic
configuration and try the tests above that way.

        Hi Friese,

        Yes, I have already created two protocol rules like you
described, but I still can not send or receive emails via Outlook
Express, I have just formated my server and installed Windows 2000
server and ISA Server again, but nothing changed, the symptoms and error
messages are the following :

        1- When I click on send&receive of Outlook Express, I receive
the messages :

        * The host "smtp.uol.com.br"could not be found. Please
verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account:
"pop3.uol.com.br", Server: "smtp.uol.com.br", Protocol: SMTP, Port 25,
Secure (SSL):No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D.
        * The host "pop3.uol.com.br"could not be found. Please
verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account:
"pop3.uol.com.br", Server: "pop3.uol.com.br", Protocol: POP3, Port 110,
Secure (SSL):No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D.

              While the Outlook Express are trying to connect to server
mail, I look at ISA Management and verify that don't have any session
opened, it is correct ?

        2- The settings for the Firewall Client and Web Browser from ISA
Management are :

        *       Firewall Client Properties :

                During setup, cofigure firewall client to connect to the
ISA Server computer by : DNS Name
                The box "Enable ISA Firewall automatic discovery in
firewall client" is checked.
                On Aplication settings I found an aplication Outlook
with the key disable and value = 0

        *       Web Browser :

                The box "Configure Web Browser during Firewall client
setup" is checked;
                The field DNS name is filled with the name of my ISA
Server machine;
                Port 8080;
                On Automatic configuration all box is checked and the
option "Use default URL" is selected

        I don't know what I can do, can you help me ?

        Thanks,
