If secureNAT client direct connect to DSL, it was successfully connect to
Exchange 2003 server via RPC / HTTP.

What is missing?

Thanks

OWA = browser; RPC/HTTP = Outlook 2003.
If the OL client never spoke to the Exch server directly, it can't establish a
connection.
What Outlook version, OS / patch level, etc. on the client?

Hi Jim,

My SecureNAT client can using OWA with HTTPS, but when I tried to configure
outlook2003 with RPC / HTTP function. It failed and
can't contact the exchange server?

My SecureNAT client can successfully resolve public address.

What is missing?

Thanks
Ricky

Since RPC / HTTP is just HTTP with LOTS of data, ISA will handle it just fine
(that's how I get my mail from home w/o a VPN tunnel).

Jim,

I understood that's security concern. However, our exchange 2003 server is
outsourcing to another company, and they refused to setup
a ISA server on their end. Therefore, I tried to research a method to see if
only one ISA server at remote end will be able access
Exchange server with "RPC over HTTP" or not.

How about this:

SecureNAT client --> ISA server --> DSL --> Internet --> Firewall --> Exchange
2003

Please let me know.

Thanks
Ricky

The better question is:
"How long can an Internet-facing Exchange server survive without some form of
protection?"
Bets, anyone?

Hi,

Is it necessary to have to ISA server for both end to have RPC over http tunnel
in order for SecureNAT client to use "RPC over HTTP"
function in outlook?

What if,

SecureNAT client --> ISA server --> DSL --> Internet --> Exchange

Is it possible?

Please let me know.

Thanks
Ricky
