Ahh...why yes indeed....auto discovery was recently enabled...that would
explain it :)

What does netstat -an show for this server?
Do you have the Outgoing Web Requests listener and the Automatic Discovery
listeners both enabled and operating on port 80?

server) port 80. This could be caused by another service that is already
using the same port or by a network interface card that is not functional.
The error code specified in the Data area of the event properties indicates

IIS is not running on this system....I find this to be a very odd error..no?
