RE: OT: I HATE VERIZON WITH A F#$%ING PASSION!!!

Yep; they did that to us when we moved from the apt to this house 4
years ago.
I called and wrote to Verizon repeatedly to make sure that the circuit
change would involve nothing more than a CO patch change and was assured
that I'd get no more than a few minutes downtime at most.
When the time to move the circuit came, I was informed that since my old
connection had been turned off, I'd have to wait in line to get "new"
service.
It took two solid days of telephone screaming to get them to pull their
heads out and move my circuit.

Believe me; if I had the option of making money with ISATools, I'd drop
Verizon for a "real" service provider in a heartbeat.

YaDamnSkippy I'm spoiled!

Whaaa whaaa whaaa - I just moved across town, and my ISP placed the
service change orders with Verizon. Verizon never informed them until
after the install date had slipped, and we called to find out why, that
my new address was "closed". There are no open slots. But when we
checked an address down the street, it showed open. Verizon can't and
won't explain the discrepancy. So I am on either dial-up, or cell modem
until this gets straightened out. So quit whining. At least you have
service, albeit intermittent. So next time you decide to rant about a
few missed spams at T1 speeds for $40 a month, remember the little
people that are struggling to download 5MB of spam to get to the one
email they need at 33Kbs or less. Ya big spoiled brat. :-)

P.S. - Verizon sucks

If you had tried to either send me mail or get something from
ISATools.org, you may have noticed some rather irritating non-responses
today.

This is because my DSL line is acting up (consumer-grade service;
waddaya expect?).

I've logged literally hours of downtime today and when I tried to get
some help from Verizon, all I got was either "we're closed for the
holidays" or "you're not using Verizon for your ISP, so we can't help
you". This is customer service?!?

If only it were as easy as the Qwest commercials made it sound, I'd
shift telco carriers in a New York micro-second.

My ISP (ZipCon, if you're in the Seattle area) put in some serious
overtime for me today, but all to no avail. Needless to say, we're both
PO'd in the extreme.

If this is what deregulation gets us, it sucks big time.

I'm almost considering moving to Business Cable (T-1 costs ~$800/mo
between ISP and telco fees)...

<GRRRR>

..at least I got the cables and adapters I needed to get some basic
sound paths built for my studio...

Alcohol; mass quantities of alcoho

That's what's needed, here...
