  Hi Mark,

there must be something wrong in your configuration. Check out
http://www.isaserver.org/pages/tutorials/allow%20internet%20access.htm and
http://www.isaserver.org/shinder/tutorials/how_to_use_isa_server_packet_filters.htm.

If all you need is web access, the preferred method is to setup the web
browser on ISA to use a proxy server: server = ip-address of internal interface
of ISA; port =8080.

  Regards,
  Stefaan

Thanks for the suggestions but none let me get internet access, I have a
packet filter and a protocol rule for http port 80 and I still don't get net
access on the ISA Itself

This is what appears in the logs

    #Fields: date time source-ip destination-ip
   protocol param#1 param#2 filter-rule
interface

    2002-02-25 21:15:16 213.123.??.?? 207.46.230.219 Tcp
     4156 80 BLOCKED Dialout

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

this is normal behaviour. ISA is a firewall and not a workstation ;-)

If you need access from ISA to external you need to define packet filters
for the protocol/ports you want to access. The only exception is for web
browsing. You can make the browser on ISA a web proxy client. Define in your
browser the internal interface of ISA as proxy server.

    Regards,

    Stefaan

Hi, I have an ISA Server configured to use a dial-up Account to the
Internet, I have Packets Filters and IP Routing Enabled, When I try to access
the internet from the ISA Itself it just times out but everything works fine
from the client PC's - I have enabled the DHCP Packet filter as described on
ISAServer.org

When I check the packet filter logs the Source IP appears as the public
IP address instead of the private address of the server and it blocks the
request - Is this correct??

      Regards
