Actually, the practice of not deleting accounts came about because there was a limitation on the number of SIDs an NT4 machine could create. Albeit a large number, exhausting that number could cause serious trouble. One of the features of Active directory is that it elleviates that limitation. -----Original Message----- From: Alexander Rayborn [mailto:alexander@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 2:25 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Network is not recognizabe http://www.ISAserver.org If you delete a computer account from Active Directory and recreate it, then the workstation has to be rejoined to the domain before it will work. When you delete a computer account or reset it, the SID changes and the new machine will not be allowed access. Same goes for users - that's why this is against recommended practice, usually. --Alexander > -----Original Message----- > From: Andy Vu [mailto:vua@xxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 1:22 PM > To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] > Subject: [isalist] RE: Network is not recognizable > > > http://www.ISAserver.org > > > I just deleted a client from the server, and then re-created > the same client.
