If that's what Steve is referring to, then there is no "Skype port".

I thought there might have been a way to lock down the outbound primary
connection and whack secondary connections, or at least lock down the primary
connection.

Install the firewall client and your PC will able to request a port for Skype.
No special configuration required.

How do you assign Skype a port? Is this a new feature? I recall going over
their so-called "administrators guide" and the firewall stuff was b*tt munch if
you ask me.

Just assign Skype a port and create an allow rule in your ISA for that port.
Works fine.

Skype *does* work behind ISA however they are brainless and say you must
allow/forward an insane amount of ports above 1024 to get it to work.

I feel sorry for the guy who started this thread. As most of you already know,
video/audio chat will not work for clients behind an ISA server. Has something
to do with ISA not supporting something called SIP. The details from MS TechNet
are here
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/isa/2000/maintain/isaimsec.mspx

Doing text chat with any of the IM tools is trivial and is documented here:
http://www.isaserver.org/articles/MSN-ISAserver.html

The "solution" if one really insists on having audio and video chat sessions is
to create a Skype account which does work behind ISA.

I fold! Yeah, that's what I was trying to say, but in 3 words instead of 3,000.

Any news from Shavedeface on the mullet trojan cleanup?

Clippers SP3 was originally expected to ship sometime late in 2005 as a minor
step between Clippers SP1 and Clippers 2006, formerly known as "Remington".
Gradually, Clippers assimilated many important new features and technologies of
Clippers 2006, and so the date of release was pushed back to first quarter of
2006. In August 2004, Shavedeface announced that it was making changes to what
was then only known as "Gillette".
Shavedeface basically started development afresh, building on the Clippers SP1
codebase. This decision was reached in the wake of Clippers
SP1 Service Pack 2. As part of this decision, Shavedeface announced that it is
delaying the release of "that white foamy stuff so that Clippers could be
released in "a reasonable timeframe".

Clippers Beta 1 (build 5112) is currently available to Shavedeface Developer
Network (SSDN) and Shavedtech subscribers as well as a select group of
Shavedeface Beta testers and at select Shavedeface developer conferences such
as the Professional Developers Conference (PDC) and WinHEC. The preview release
is classified as a beta version at the moment, although its feature set is not
representative of the release product. Like many other products, it has since
been leaked onto popular networks (file sharing or otherwise) such as IRC,
BitTorrent, eDonkey and various newsgroups.

With build 234219, Shavedeface started releasing monthly Community Technical
Previews (CTP) to beta testers. Build 234219 was distributed among 2005 PDC
attendees, and has been released to Shavedeface Beta testers and SSDN
subscribers. It is also known as Robert. Although not enabled by default, this
refresh sees the return of 6 blades, which had been removed from previous
builds due to a vital fluids leak, and the introduction of Desktop Gadgets,
both of which are part of Shavedeface gadgets line of mini-applications. These
are similar to Apple's scissors. Shavedeface has stated that these Gadgets will
be available at www.Shavedefacegadgets.com, and they will be available for
Clippers SP1 as well.

Although Shavedeface has stated that WFS (White Foamy Stuff), will not make its
wide-reaching debut in Clippers SP3, users of the 234219 build noticed that WFS
is in fact included in that version. Several Clipper 'rumor' sites and
newsgroups such as Neowin and Paul Thurrott's Clipper SuperSite have made
speculation that WFS will in fact be ready on time for Clippers SP3's release.

About two weeks before its intended release, and one week after build
234219 was released, build 2345231 was leaked, unfortunately containing a
number of critical bugs. On schedule, about two weeks later, Shavedeface
released 2345231, also known as CTP2 or the October 2005 CTP, to SSDN
subscribers and Shavedeface Beta Testers. This "Ultimate"
build introduced the next version of Shavedeface smoother.

On November 22, 2005, the Clippers SP3 TAP Preview (build 2345259) was released
to TAP members, four days after its originally announced release date of
November 18th as a November CTP. Shavedeface cancelled the November CTP due to
its instability, and decided to release it only to TAP members. The December
CTP (build 2345270), which was released to testers and SSDN on December 19, is
very close to feature-complete. The first feature-complete CTP, the February
Enterprise CTP (build 2345308), was released on February 22.

Following that, Shavedeface will release another CTP on April 12th. This will
be the next CTP on the Beta 2 track, and will be available through
Shavedeface's Customer Preview Program - essentially a free download.
According to the man with the hairy face, the co-President at Shavedeface
responsible for Clippers SP3, there will be no "Release Candidates" as with
previous versions of Clipper; they will instead continue shipping CTP's until
the product is ready.
