RE: Internal and External Interface

There are many articles for you to read on isaserver.org.  Check out
many of the first articles for a good explanation of ISA's network
interface configuration.

The external adapter refers to the NIC connected to the Internet (i.e.
DSL router, modem, etc.)

The internal adapter refers to the NIC which connects to the local
network.
