RE: Internal Web Servers get 502 Error

I'm just being stupid advocate here because I just brought up our ISA 2004
and had the same error. I added a rule to allow internal to internal
access. Is that the same thing? Or is there just a checkbox on the
internal network that does this?

Sorry for being so thick. It's Monday.

Hi Paul,

The 'bypass proxy for local etc" in the browser is just to bypass for single
label names.

Configure the internal addresses for Direct Access.

Subject: [isalist] Internal Web Servers get 502 Error

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hello,
We are using ISA 2004 Standard with a basic Edge Firewall setup. My client
is IE Web Proxy, Firewall Client and the default gateway is pointing to ISA.

Anytime I want to access an internal web server device, such as my HP
jet-direct devices, or my internal switches web interface, I have to
manually enter the IP into my web browser in the advanced section in the
exceptions. Otherwise I get the brown Network Access Message: The page
cannot be displayed Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the
specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)

So after I enter the IP manually, and then I close IE and reopen, I have to
reenter the IPs all by hand again or I get the same error.

In IE, I have the box checked to bypass proxy for local, but still same
result. Also, on my ISA server on the Internal Adapter Properties, on the
web browser tab I have the box checked for Bypass proxy for Web servers in
this network.

But I am still getting the error when I try to connect unless I manually
each and every time go in and type the IP into the exception box.

Any advice?
Thanks,
Paul Deen
