By the way I'm using Win98 SE for my testing. I have read technet Q222936. Regards, Vald ----- Original Message ----- From: Vald To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Sent: Tuesday, October 02, 2001 1:49 PM Subject: [isalist] I'd appreciate some assistance http://www.ISAserver.org I have 2 ISA servers configured as an array in their own Win2k forest. They are in integrated mode and protect an Internal Win2k network. The internal interfaces have network load balancing configured. The internal clients are terminal server clients and their proxy settings point to the virtual IP address. The external interfaces are independent (NLB can only be done on one set of interfaces I discovered). The external interfaces both accept VPN connections (Load balanced by the ISP round robin DNS). From a Win2k Prof client I can quite happily create a PPTP tunnel to either ISA Server and then ping internal machines, or connect to netbios shares. I can also run a terminal services client on my machine and connect to internal servers. The problem: (at last) When I connect to the VPN from a Win98 client with the Microsoft VPN Adapter installed. I can still happily ping internal machines, but everything else is intermittent at best. I have successfully connected to C$ shares on the dc's in the internal forest. I have 40 remote users who will be using this VPN who all have Win98 or Win95 installed. A more minor problem is that the Virtual IP address also works periodically although this is for like 2 days and then stops working. I recently read a post from Thomas Schinder that referred to a post by Jim Harrison explaining some of the problems with pre Win2k clients. I am unable to find this post though. Would you mind reposting this please Jim? If anyone can shed any light on my problem, make suggestions or needs further info then please let me know. My head aches.
