I agree that it shouldn't be serving firewall clients if it cant log,
and that it doesn't matter whether its sql or text based logging. my
query was if anyone had automated the restart of the services after the
sql server comes back up rather than having to start them manually, I
would be interested to hear from 'em..

I didn't reall class it as a bug, maybe I should have been clearer.

Thanks

Greg

Hi Greg,

It's not a bug -- it's a feature. No fix.

Anyone know of a workaround for the way ISA 2k4 firewall service breaks
when you cant connect to the SQL log server.

Why you ask! if I bounce the SQL box, maybe for patching or if its on
another machine with a network in between that may have an issue, ISA
breaks, but when the SQL box reappears the service has to be restarted
manually.

Anyone automated this?

Greg
