Slightly off-topic, but does WSUS support BITS transfer to the workstation? I thought it did, but found out otherwise when it buried our WAN with Office 2003 SP2. Took something like 16 hours before the network was back to normal traffic load. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Harrison [mailto:Jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2005 11:26 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: ISA 2004 SP2 and 2007! http://www.ISAserver.org Not true. WSUS can also tell the clients to "go get it yourself"... BITS caching is a misnomer; isn't limited to BITS traffic. It will also cache any single-range client request that is cacheable according to normal ISA caching criteria. QoS is a gross misstatement; as Tom stated in his blog; it has nothing to do with bandwidth allocation or traffic shaping. -----Original Message----- From: Ara Avvali [mailto:ara.avvali@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2005 8:25 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: ISA 2004 SP2 and 2007! http://www.ISAserver.org Bits caching sounds nice although having a wsus will make it unnecessary Ara Avvali Boss Audio Systems Email: ara.avvali@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2005 8:05 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: ISA 2004 SP2 and 2007! http://www.ISAserver.org http://spaces.msn.com/members/drisa/Blog/cns!1p9yz6owxXl-uIlyqIZXkCrg!32 9.entry Thomas W Shinder, M.D. Site: www.isaserver.org Blog: http://spaces.msn.com/members/drisa/ Book: http://tinyurl.com/3xqb7 MVP -- ISA Firewalls **Who is John Galt?** > -----Original Message----- > From: Ara Avvali [mailto:ara.avvali@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2005 10:04 PM > To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] > Subject: [isalist] ISA 2004 SP2 and 2007! > > http://www.ISAserver.org > > I just saw this today which I wanted to share > http://bink.nu/Article5376.bink > > ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx All mail to and from this domain is GFI-scanned. ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: dball@xxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
