Hi Mashahood,

Is it necessary to select the application filters ?
What exactly do these filters do and mean .

Sorry for a dumb question , but I relatively very new to ISA and still
learning.

Thanks

Hi José E.Ibarra
i have not ever blocked MSN but i think i
can give you the way
1st Create an Access Rule in Firewall Policy names it "Block MSN"(Or
any other which you want)
2nd Select Deny
3rd Select "Selected Protocols"
4th Click the button Add
5th Add MSN Messenger from the list which is in "Instant Messaging"
6th then close the Add protocol and click Edit Go to Parameters
7th Select SOCKS 4 and WEB PROXY from Application Filter box
Click Apply
8th In Access Rules Sources Select Internal
9th then after clicking next there will be an "Access Rule
Destination" Which is the Source where you get Internet Facility and
which will be "External"
10th After that select the users for which you want to block MSN
Then Next and Finish
Apply the settings and try it on any client(Remember you have selected
Internal your Sever is said to be LOCAL Host if you select it also
then it will also block MSN on your server)

Thanks
