That's great! What app is this? Any mailer app that's grabbing the TCP/IP
stack directly is extremely suspect!

T'were a joke, that's why the winker ;-)
Still, the fw checking util reports that something is taking the fw
client's preferred spot as the first LSP in the TCP/IP stack.

If it shut downs the entire network, why is it that I can still browse
via Web Proxy client ?
I have not installed anything lately.
I've manage to connect via Firewall Client even with the bulk mailing
still running last week.
So I don't think so it's the bulk mailing's fault. Either way I'll try
stopping it first.

Ahh, that makes sense; ISA is programmed to recognize spam and shut
down the whole internal network. ;-)
Seriously, what have you installed lately? Yes, a reinstall might do
it, but a removal / reinstall might be better...

but it has been working for months..then suddenly this happened.
The 2 Firewall Clients has the same problem.
It happenned after I started doing bulk mailing via ISA this morning.
What are TCP/IP extensions ? Can you give some examples...
Would a reinstall of Firewall Client solve it ?

Firewall Client error messageHere's a telling entry:
"Firewall Client Layered Service Provider (LSP) was not installed as
the
first LSP."
What other apps or TCP/IP extensions do you have installed on that
host?

What's in the event logs on either machine (ISA, client)?
Troubleshooting:
open a cmd window on the client
cd \program files\microsoft firewall client
chkwsp32 /f
What does it tell you?

I did an "Update Now" and got the following message. FYI, rebooted my
machine numerous times.
Connection to the server is OK, verified via Ping and able to browse
via IE
thru ISA
-----------
Server suddenly disconnected
Possible cause:
The client version may not be supported version of client software
--------
Any ideas ?
rgds :-)
