The linksys one can now control outbound access to particular computers but cannot limit access to one specific protocol via a source ip. Once the "ports open" its open. Also i had this argument with someone about the need to only use smtp part of and exchange server and i said i would much rather have the ability to use all the features of exchange behind a proper firewall that actually knows how to protect things such as rpc connections. I prefer the granular control of an ISA for my vpn clients, the ability to publish multiple websites without having to change ports from 80 to 81 etc but as i said they are great fro some things when you dont need that sort of control and ability to expose your servers to the world in a constant/secure manner.
