Domain controller or member server in DMZ - Exchange 2000 front-end in DMZ

I found a document whose title is "329807 INFO: ISA Server Does Not
Support Domain Members In Perimeter Network" and whose address is:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329807 explaining that you cannot place
either a Domain Controller or a Member Server in a DMZ.
It sounds strange, however, up to now I was unable to implement a memeber
server in a DMZ. I attempted with a three homed ISA server.
My questions are:
- is the document right, or am I misunderstanding it?
- if the document is right, is there any chance to place an Exchange 2000
front-end server (that must be a member of a Windows 2000 AD domain) in a
DMZ?
- if I misunderstood the document, where can I find step-by-step
instruction to make a server in DMZ (based on a three-homed ISA Server)
member of a domain existing in the intranet?
