Yasilly, I knew that...
Actually, you included just enough truth to make it believable...

Hi Jim,

Hey, that's an April Fools joke! :-)

OK everyone -- all the features I mentioned are an April Fools. ISA
Server 2004 has plenty of cool features that aren't an April Fools joke,
though. Such as:

* Multinetworking -- Firewall policy applied to all interfaces
* No more LAT!
* Firewall Policy applied to VPN connections -- lock down VPN users
tight!
* Firewall Policy applied to site to site connections -- neat!
* IPSec tunnel mode now supported for site to site connections with
third party VPN products
* OWA forms-based authenticaton -- generate the form at the firewall --
supports all versions of OWA (5.5, 2000, 2003)
* Full support for IPSec passthrough
* Full support for publishing ALL PROTOCOLS, not just TCP/UDP --
including PPTP server publishing
* Very granular control over HTTP communications through the firewall --
whack applications that try to tunnel through an HTTP connection (Peer
to Peer, IM'ers, etc)
* Total inspection of Web connections - block sites based on keyword in
URL and/or body
* Unlimited number of DMZs -- use public or private addressing on the
DMZ, you have total control!
* No brainer backup and restore to and from XML -- clone your config;
easy disaster recovery
* Share your configs easily using granular component backups -- cools
configs easily shared with the community
* New and improved Firewall client --more stable and an *encrypted*
connection between the client and server
* VPN Quarantine to pre-qualify VPN client configs -- EVEN ON Windows
2000!
* Ultra cool real-time monitoring console
* Automatically publish scheduled reports to a Web site or File share
* Automatically sends you an e-mail when the report is created
* Connection limits -- stop worms from attacking others through your
network
* And lots more...

HTH,
Tom

Oh!

And I forgot these features:

* Database logging to any database format you like
* Unlimited number of external ISP connections with multiple "default"
gateways with real time fail-over
* Transparent upgrade from proxy 2.0 and ISA Server 2000
* NLB Wizards that support up to 768 nodes in a single array
* VPN throughput of 44 GB/s
* VPN Wizards that connect the ISA Server 2004 box to pix, Netscreen,
Sonicwall and Bluecoat

Jim, did I forget anything?

http://www.ISAserver.org

Actually, it's a bit more complex than that.
What you have to do is:
1. back up your ISA configuration with:
    - isaexportimport.zip tools
    - isainfo.ex_
2. use the isaexport.exe tool from the ISA 2004 CD to create a
configuration XMl file for ISA 2004
3. download the hard drive imaging tool from www.pebkac.com and use it
to create a complete backup of the physical drive where ISA
and the OS are installed
4. quit reading this stupid response and enjoy a clean, simple upgrade
process

I have a feeling that this might be a stupid question, but I'll ask
anyway.
When the final version is released, will it be possible to upgrade from
2000
to 2004, or do we need to do a clean install of ISA Server 2004?

Dana

Hey,

Guess what I heard!

ISA Server 2004 is going to include:

VoIP support!
User/group/protocol/site based bandwidth control!
Streaming media caching!
SSL VPN using SSL/PPP technology and strong policy based access control!
Layer 2 transparent proxy! RADIUS authentication support for Firewall
clients! One to One NAT! Ability to control source IP address for
outbound
communications from SMTP servers!

Is this cool or what?

Hello! Is there any way I can lock clients down to a certain destination
set
by user id, or does it have to be IP address?

Tx!
