Hi Steve I follow what you mean, yet for this client site A has 3 domains and site B another 3. For there own reasons (which I could not convince otherwise) they want site A to be primary DNS for site A domains and have Site B as the secondary....an same for site B.........down here not all makes sense :-)....and talking reason is not well accepted at times Any idea what might cause the secondary dns servers not to be able to connect to the primary? It's an RFC thang..:)) S ________________________________ From: William England [mailto:william@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, October 24, 2004 3:36 PM To: ISA Mailing List Subject: [isalist] DNS server http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Have a client who wants to start managing his own DNS server. Client has 6 domains 2 sites both with public IP....both sites run ISA server 2000. ......Each ISA is primary DNS for 3 domains and secondary for another 3. Followed article found at http://www.isaserver.org/articles/Running_a_DNS_Server_on_the_ISA_Server .html All works fine apart from the secondary dns's getting dns info from the primary......that fails. Should the TCP 53 packet filter referred to at end of above article be created for both inbound and outbound?
