Hi, in my experience the DNS server implementation on NT4 is not stable enough to be used as a solid basis for the DNS infrastructure. I have experienced all sort of problems, including random loss of forwarders list or root servers hint cache. If you must use NT4 for your DNS servers, make sure you run the latest service pack (SP6a) in order to mitigate the problem. BTW --- with W2K and Bind under Unix we have never experienced such problems, yet.
